2012 Amtrak Post-ride eats
Anyone from here doing the ride (next Saturday, 9/8)? I plan on getting some grub and a brew at Karl Strauss on Columbia before we load on the train, err buses. I'm not sure of my route time. I'm leaving Irvine at 630ish and I figure at slowest I'll do a 15 mph average (hopefully). So with 6.6 hours plus stops and loading the bike on the truck, maybe 130 or 2 at the brew pub?

That's a good place to eat. I stop in there sometimes and sit outside. If it's not busy they let me park my bike up on the seating area next to my table. Did that ride a few times years ago. It's a good first time century. Always did it on my single speed. If I wasn't busy I'd maybe do it this year for giggles. Not officially, just show up and mix in with the crowds on the road, skip the rest stops. Leave here around midnight and just ride up to the start. Next year maybe...
