Here are my ride stats from the ESD. Rick thank you so much for recommending this ride. It was by far my favorite bike ride to date of any distance.

Registration for Death Valley Fall Double is open. They are up to 254/300 riders and it looks like it might sell out in the next few days.

Are you driving out? That was kind of my plan since there are no close motels besides Calabasas.

Sheez. Why are you guys talking about the ESD under the Solvang Double thread? Trying to confuse an old man? lol
Lesper4: I told you.

That is where we stayed when we went backpacking last year but I couldn't find much with two beds so we stayed at the Ramada very close and nice. Now the question is do I want to stay in shape to do this again next year (if it is offered)? Now I am thinking about White Mountain Double?
I tried to change the title but I was only able to change the first post title. This is more for Double Centuries and training.

You are already light especially compared to me, maybe you just new longer rides? I have ridden 90 miles or more every weekend since 4/27 and and at least 70 going all the way back to 2/9. I think i have 13 centuries on the year.

I did a ton of long rides and I weigh exactly as much as I did 3 months ago. I'm going to try something different now.

shorter? but with the right bike size isnt that just ratios? Maybe less power but that really only shows on flat sections?

Another day another double. Anyone else doing the Grand Tour (highland)? It is this Saturday. Should be fun as I get to ride a lot more of the coast then on the Solvang Double (depending on the wind). I also get to ride up the Potero wall for the first time. During the Cool Breeze ride the wind has never been good or bad on the coast, any previous experience on this ride, it does include a bit more road South?

Hi Lesper4,
I'll be on Grand Tour Highland too. We usually have headwinds after Grimes and before Dennison (through the orange groves) but usually a tail wind from Rincon back into Malibu. Your trade-winds my vary!
See you out there somewhere.
Rick / OCRR
PS: We keep talking about more doubles but the thread title still says "Solvang Spring." Maybe we can get a mod. to change the title to remove the "Solvang Spring" part. Then we could keep adding more doubles without confusing Victor!

Sounds good. Yeah I can't change the title of the thread just the title of the first post. How is a Mod I here, not sure if I have ever seen one?
