Santiago Creek to SART

I have taken the Santiago Creek trail to Mainplace mall where I believe it ends. Does anyone know the best route from there to SART?

Although not my favorite street, you can connect to LaVeta (go along the back road around the Mall and then exit at the next left turn - near JC Pennys), turn left on La Veta, up and over the freeway and then turn right on Memory Way. SART is right there.

Is your goal to stay on that bike trail or do you just want ot get to SART? If to SART I would recommend another route...

Also and unfortunately I don't have the street names but you can google map this... instead of taking the bike path to Main Place at the Discovery Center, turn left (go Southh) onto Main Place and then right right just past the freeway. This takes you into a beautiful Santa Ana residential area (The Heliotrope Community). Ride West until you reach Flower. Turn right take that to Memory Way , go left. It's about a mile to SART...

BTW I bike commute from Tustin to Orange (near UCI Hospital) most every day... I think I know all the routes...

Pamestique, I had just rode SC out from Jamboree because my wife has a new job across street from mall and it got me thinking. Do you have a better route your recommend off SC to get to SART?

Wouldn't Broadway produce the same results with less stops (albeit also with less space).

That whole area is iffy - I've tried alot of routes... and frankly as soon as you approach Main Street there is no real good way to go. But since iTrek only needs to go to the Mall, he's actually found the safest route... at least to the Mall... and I am assuming that was the goal... so he has no choice if he now wants to get to the River Trail. The two options I provided are the quickest. If he makes it to the Mall, to reach the community I mentioned you just have to go over the Broadway Bridge South (the bike path ends on the east side) and make that first right turn into the neighborhood. It isn't that far and there is little car traffic (as it is blocked) once in the neighborhood (you will have to watch for freeway traffic exiting just before the right turn). Just travel west to Flower, North to Memory Lane, West again to SART.

Thanks I think that's correct... I just know all the Landmarks and seldom worry about street names!

Same concept but instead of south on Main, turning south on Broadway to Santa Clara, Flower, and Memory. Not that either would be ideal except compared to going north which si fine until you have like two or three freeway crossings instead of one and many more streets.

If you want to get technical, Santiago trail ends at Fisher park. The pavement ends and it turns into a tight singletrack mountain bike trail.

I pick up the trail at the park just South of the Riverview golf course.
