Where are you riding this weekend - 03/16 & 17 ?

Doing the Marathon Crash Race, well, not racing it but riding it. Last year was alot of fun, but wet. This year, I think should be dry so even faster. Last year, I got dropped off at the start and picked up at the end. This year I'm parking at start and riding all the way back. Make a long'ish ride out of it

I'm riding it, too. Mrs. PJ and I will let everyone clear out then enjoy the ride toward the back of the pack. I can't wait. I've been out there as part of the television crew for several years and seen everyone ride by. I swore the first year I didn't work for that company was the first year I rode it. Well....I don't work for them anymore!!!!! We're riding one way only. We're still getting in shape and are Mrs. PJ isn't thrilled about riding on open streets in that area. Going to be a blast, though!

Riding up Twin Oaks Parkway Saturday morning, and then back on Sat night after my stupid class at CSUSM.
But Sunday, I'm hoping to talk Lauretta into a Palomar Assault from Dudley's in Santa Ysabel. Mesa Grande is sucha sweet, sweet road, especially in the early Spring after the rains we've had.
It's gonna be good.... real good.

I think I might do GMR on Saturday morning. Haven't been out there in ages, and the weather certainly seems like it'll be warm enough for my tastes.

Saturday will be a morning MTB ride at Daley Ranch

Sunday, I'm thinking of doing Palomar Mt, mesa grande to Santa Ysable and back up Cole grade on the way home. I hate climbing up rincon. (starting from Escondido) It will be a hard century ride

Thinking about doing a couple of loops around Bonelli park Sunday. I haven't done it in a while and I kind of miss the scenery.

Doing the crash ride. It starts in my 'hood, so getting to the start is easy. Getting up at 3:30AM, not so easy.

FYI there is a MTB race there both days this weekend so it will be crowded on the loop (more so on sunday). The course crosses the road in a few spots so you might have to wait to cross those section + the added car traffic

Not riding this weekend but will be out working the Joshua Tree Double Century. Driving SAG in the morning, then working the lunch stop and a couple of checkpoints after lunch, plus the finish.

Should be fun!

I just got my bike back together with a new frame and fork after noticing a crack near the bottom bracket shell of my previous frameset. Last night was my first ride in about a month. I did a quick 16 mile spin around my neighborhood and... ugh, no bueno. The bike needs a few adjustments (which I'll do tonight) and then Saturday I think I might want to head up to Turnbull and really hurt myself (I'll probably head from my house in La Habra up to Janine, over to Santa Gertrudes, up past La Serna to Mar Vista, down Mar Vista to Painter, up Painter to Beverly, across Beverly to Turnbull, down the other side of Turnbull to Hacienda, down Hacienda to Colima, over Colima to Mar Vista and then back home.)

Of course I might just chicken out and do the same 16 mile loop (down Beach to Stage, up Stage to Biola, up Biola to Tacuba, across Tacuba to La Mirada, up La Mirada to Colima, up Colima to Mar Vista, down past La Serna to Santa Gertrudes, down Santa Gertrudes to Janine, over Janine to home) for comparison's sake after I make tonight's adjustments.

Cool Jefe, maybe Lauretta and I will see you along the way! We're embarking from Dudley's in Santa Y, riding Mesa Grande out to Mothers & back. Departure time TBD, but it probably won't be too early, as Lauretta likes to sleep in on weekends. I'll be rockin the Hot-Dog-on-a-Stick bike & kit again.

Marathon Crash ride was a blast. Super fast ride and the weather was perfect. Finished better than I expected.

I saw little too much carnage, though. A couple of nasty crashes from people not following their lines, being reckless, etc. Hope the injuries weren't too bad and very happy all my friends got through intact.

AWESOME morning. I was in the back, but I saw a guy in a helmet with a blinky light way in front of me. That was you, right?

I obviously jest. There must have been 3,000 people there. We were at the back for the rolling start and it was at least a quarter mile of red blinking lights in front of us. We weren't in a hurry. Just wanted to finish the ride. It was perfect weather. Can't wait for next year!

Crash Race was a blast. I wish I would have had a camera when I made that turn onto Grand in Downtown L.A and all the lights going up the hill, it was like a massive wall of lights. Felt bad for the fixie guys that had to push their bikes up it through. On the way back, I found a local group (psyco-lists) from the IE that I have ridden with before, nice and fun group. Kept me from getting lost.

Felt bad for the fixie guys? Unless they are in spandex I would have been laughing, those tredy kids.
Here was my ride, was about exactly half the milage and elevation for next week.
