Where are you riding this weekend 03-23 & 24 ?

I know several are heading to Solvang.

I'm more than likely going to go up Baldy Road to the Village and maybe take a shot at the lifts and down GRR, down East Fork, back up East Fork, and down GMR.

If I get my chops back this week (the 14th was my first ride in over a month due to a cracked frame), I'll be heading up Turnbull. If not, I'll be doing some more local La Habra/La Mirada/Whittier loops to get back in shape. :)

psalm 03-19-13 10:12 AM

My wife works Sat so hopefully I can get some miles around the mean streets of San Dimas in the afternoon. The San Dimas stage race is this weekend, so I'll probably hang out there Sunday.

iamtim 03-19-13 10:16 AM

Do you have information on this San Dimas stage race? I'm local enough that I might want to go check it out. :)

TrojanHorse 03-19-13 10:58 AM

I'm sick as a dawg and have a nasty ankle sprain to boot so hopefully I'll be able to work in some easy rides this weekend.

Probably GMR Sunday - going the opposite direction as Genaro - but if I can make the drive, more likely Santa Monica mountains

calamarichris 03-19-13 01:24 PM

Either going to pre-ride the first and last lap of the MLBC at Mount Laguna, or put the aero wheels on Lauretta's bike and ride through Pendleton up to San Clem & back. Got ten pounds to lose by 4/20.

Thank you indeed!

Sol-Vang! and then if I remember I want to watch the SDSR on Sunday. That is ambitious Genaro considering the distance and your training mileage. Go after it, it should be great weather!!

Going to do a self supported century with a few friends starting in Irvine, heading down to the coast, north to Seal Beach, inland to SART then up to Anaheim, Orange and back to Irvine. Anyone that's interested is welcome to join us, PM me and I'll send you a link to the route and starting point.

Hey Calamari, watch for me if you settle for the San Clemente option. I'm thinking of riding to San Clemente - Trestles and back.

Genaro 03-22-13 02:08 PM

Change of plans for me. I just learned I'm on call from work, so I can't ride outside of "celll range", so I'll take a ride from my house down to San Dimas, around PUddingstone and up to Padua/Baldy Rd and back down and home.

The 100 miler:

Genaro, the San Dimas stage race is this weekend. They are going around Bonelli on Sat, and around downtown San Dimas on Sunday. Watch out for road closures.

Yikes, thanks for the heads up! I've gotten caught up in the whirlwind of a pro peloton once. That was enough.

Lesper4 03-22-13 03:31 PM

Kudos for the shooting range but you have to go all the way to pavement ends to get it!

That's the plan Loren, till we touch the chain link gate!

tyler714 03-24-13 01:27 AM

I may ride SART from Orange to Newport Beach tomorrow. Eat and relax on the beach, it should be another beautiful day!

Lesper4 03-24-13 12:22 PM

Well it was beautiful at times but I imagine there are better rides then this.

A group of us took the Metrolink up to Irvine and rode back to Oceanside. Did a nice little inland loop around Rancho Santa Margarita before heading to the coast. The weather was perfect.
