Chipseal on Baldy Rd?

I went to the Village today via GRR and noticed when I got to Baldy Rd that it'd been freshly chipsealed and gravel was everywhere.

Does anybody know how high that goes up the road? I'd really hate to come down from the ski lifts on that stuff when it's fresh and gravelly.

It goes all the way up to the parking lot. This one is not a Cal Trans deal I think. The sign says San Bernadino Co. Worst chip seal ever. Folks at the trout farm said it's already pealing up at Manker

Uhg. It seems like it'd be too dangerous descending from the lifts on the stuff as-is, but maybe it is fine. The shoulders were SO loose on the short 100meter section I rode up to the fire station. Thanks for the info.
