Time to shed off the jackets and vest mid ride and get a tans again. Temps estimated in the 70-80s. How are you gonna soak in the warmth?

I'm thinking a dirty Palomar Mt ride:D

Dunbar 12-13-13 10:54 PM

There's another wind warning here in LA. I just hope it isn't as windy as last Saturday. I got sand blasted heading north on my way home riding along the beach :( I'm hoping to get at least 100 miles this weekend. My goal is to reach 7500 miles for the year (I have 7058 miles YTD.)

figures. i always seem to be a slave to work during these occasional winter respites from the 50's-60's when the temps soar into the 70's. i'm not bitter.
okay...maybe a little. guess i'll try to squeeze in a local ride to cabrillo natl monument and maybe one up the coast to del mar.

Yeah, sounds lovely! Up here at 7000ft. alt. in Santa Fe, NM, USA I got to ride my street bike for two days in-a-row. The mtn/snow bike got a rest. Sheesh!

My wife and I will take the tandem today around the Bay and then up the strand to Coronado Island where we'll catch a ferry back. The weather looks phenomenal.

took my new CX bike on an adventure. Went up Nate Harrison grade (dirt side of Palomar). Was pretty gassed from my gearing, stayed in 36x28 whole way up. Tried to play w/ tire pressure to get off the saddle on the consistant 10% grade but ended up pinch flatting half way up :crash: when I got to the top and running outta daylight. Sleeping in and starting about 9:30 didn't help but didn't have to layer up leaving that late. Temps on the grade was upper 60s and pockets of 82-84* where there wasn't much wind. Cooled down once I got to the tree line but once I flipped to the other side of the rigde the temps dropped to the low 50's. That made for a pretty cold decent back down into the warm valley. http://www.strava.com/activities/100209044

It wasn't windy on the west side of LA this afternoon. I had a nice tailwind heading north but the wind was calm compared to last Saturday. It was nice to shed all of the layers for a change.

Sat I Rode Santiago Canyon both from Jamboree to Cooks Corner and back to Jamboree...on top of riding from The Unlikely Cyclist shop in Costa Mesa with the ladies. Wind was not as bad as we feared.

thanks! Photos doesn't show the real views all the way to downtown sandiego, point loma and even both large coronado island. Super clear up there, no motorcycles, just two off roading tacomas and a lost Jag on the dirt :roflmao2:

jsigone - great pictures!

I took advantage of the warm weather for 54+. Started at Hodges and did a coastal loop.

GP 12-16-13 02:52 PM

I rode around north county on Friday and Saturday. Sunday did the club ride from Carlsbad to Dana Point. I was so tired that I had to take the shortcut back.

Rick@OCRR 12-16-13 05:13 PM

I rode the OCRR club ride on Saturday for 55 miles with 3,500 feet of climbing and then GMR/GRR on Sunday with 42 miles and 5,400 feet of climbing. Both rides in Beautiful Weather!

Rick / OCRR
