Nice. All I have at work are the lower res versions you can find on Facebook, but I can send you the higher res versions when I get home.

I think I had my headlight in blinker mode and it got your camera confused. I cranked up brightness/contrast in a photo editor and confirmed that it is me in the picture. I need to look into getting some reflective bands.

Gives a pretty good "feel" of the finishing stretch.

Hi Victor (Biker395),

We missed you on the Hemet Double but it sounds like you were needed lots more on the Mulholland Double. We had overall excellent support on Hemet and no worries. Well, except for the crash that took out Isabelle and Chuck. At least the EMT's response was super-quick.

Thanks for helping my friend David Slaton on Mulholland. We were comparing our doubles experiences from last Sat. and he was most appreciative of your support for the event.

It was a pleasure. We hadn't met before, but Teresa asked me to look out for a guy with a White Mountain Double jersey on the course, and she packed me a care package of food endurolytes for the doubles riders.

So I roll up to the fire station on Decker as the sun is getting low, and there he is ... and he needs food. Serendipitous, eh?

I look forward to riding some doubles with him.

I saw where CB and ID went down, I was for sure that it was much closer to the bad road near the lake near the rest stop. It was actually way up near Temecula just after the freeway crossing. I thought much of that area was in good shape?

You are correct and overall, yes, very good shape. Apparently there was just one place with a bump or transition that caught some riders out. I didn't see it (was too far back when the crash happened) but that's what I was told.

Registered for ESD. I might do WMD again too. There's a new double in my backyard this year, Oceanside Double, on November 1. Same route as Borrego Double, but with the start in Oceanside: Oceanside to Borrego Springs and back. That's #4 .

I think I need to do something in Northern California. Ideally between ESD and WMD (I don't like rain). Which basically means Terrible Two or Mt Tam.

I am signing up for the Eastern Sierra Double today and I was going to use one of my vouchers for the ride. How do I go about registration? My wife and I volunteered at Solvang and my voucher will be use for the 1,000 mile could and my wife's voucher is going to be used as ride credit for ESD for me.

Do you have a paper voucher? I think you need to mail it in physically with a paper registration form. Also, you're supposed to use vouchers during the early registration period (which ended on 4/12 for ESD.) Email them and double check.

Do you have a place in Bishop yet? I am trying to figure that out pretty soon.

Good luck Rick, take pictures. I have never done a double up near the bay area and everyone says they are good.

Mailed in my voucher/registration for ESD.

Had a great time volunteering for the Devil Mountain Double yesterday.

"Epic" is the only word for that ride. Serious climbs up Diablo, Morgan Territory, Patterson, Mt. Hamilton, Sierra Road, Palomares, and Norris, with a lot of epic stuff in between. Great climbs. I posted a bunch of photos on the California Triple Crown Facebook page, and if you did the ride, there is probably one of you climbing the wall to the top of Mt. Diablo.

Congrats to everyone!

Thanks for everything Victor! Good driving up with you, great seeing you at the top of Diablo and at lunch, amazing that you were still awake when I finished at 3:00AM! Also . . . thanks for the long driving stint on the way home so I could sleep!

We forgot the coffee cups when we unpacked the car. I put one on your porch and will mail the other one to you!

Yes, Devil Mountain is a brutal ride; brutal for so many steep and long climbs, brutal for the freezing cold weather, brutal for the hammering headwinds . . . and also for just so long (22 hours) on the bike. All kinds of fun though!

True Lesper4,

Mother Nature seemed to be controlled by the Devil on Sat. but at least it didn't rain! With so many negatives going against us it was the great support of the Quacks and just stupid subborness that got us through to the end. For sure the toughest double I've ever done.

So I think I am going to get a room at the Rodeway Inn in Bishop for ESD. The double bed rooms are $10 more per night. Is anyone interested in sharing, Hamster? Are you still staying only one night?
