Ooh, I like the green accents. Nothing wrong with looking good while you're out riding.

And I'd never wear argyle to a funeral, Jimmy. Très gauche.

Rude, sexist... I didn't know I'm that evil. You are misunderstanding me again, BG. See what Cbad said below - that's what I meant. Life's short - wear something nice.

He is definitely "flat out wrong" on quite a few subjects. As an example, the "NH" in his forum name stand for "No Helmet."

Hey Rick, if I've ever insulted you, that's been totally unintentional. Please provide some specifics, and I'll buy you a beer as an apology. By the way, what's wrong with the "no helmet"?

Cbad, consider yourself invited to my funeral and feel free to wear argyle or whatever you feel like. It's gonna be a party.
As for BG05's jersey - it seems like the popular vote likes it. Now, let's vote who wore it better.

Yeah, I was pretty much his superdomestique that day. It was Tour de Palm Springs, so there wasn't much traffic. Even still, probably a good idea to ride on brightly-colored coattails.

Maybe "insult" is the wrong word, you just disagree with me a lot, i.e. what really is a "masochistic" ride that you're always accusing me of organizing (or participating in)?

We even disagree about where to start a GMR ride (you say "the high school" and I say "Boulder Springs").

Not to mention, but I will, that you want to start GMR rides way too late, esp. in the heat of the summer. Jimmy, 7:00AM really is a good start time when the temps are up!

All that said, and like I said in the prev. post, you really are a nice guy so in person, nothing to worry about.

Oh, and to prove that double centuries with 10,000+ feet of climbing are not "masochistic" I looked up the definition:

1. The deriving of sexual gratification, or the tendency to derive sexual gratification, from being physically or emotionally abused.2. The deriving of pleasure, or the tendency to derive pleasure, from being humiliated or mistreated, either by another or by oneself.

Neither of these things have ever happened to me on a double (regardless of the climbing involved). Unfortunately (for me) there is definition #3 .

3. A willingness or tendency to subject oneself to unpleasant or trying experiences.

Okay, yeah . . . but while doubles are not unpleasant, they are sometimes challenging (which kind of like "trying") experieces! Still, 2 out of 3 is not bad!

Art's is not my LBS. I have spent a fair amount of time on the coast, and dollars at Art's. Always left the shop with a smile. Thoughts to consider for a daytime jersey.

Doesnt number 3 apply to all of us? After all, it doesn't get easier, you just go faster is the unofficial motto around here isn't it?

I didn't know we had an official motto, but it sounds like a Greg LeMond quote to me!

You can thank the P&R forum for that word being in the censor.

Four of us rode in the new team kit on Monday to meet January's Gran Fondo challenge on Strava.

They looked really nice in the sun...much better than the cruddy lighting in my house.

Stopped in Seal Beach

Well I got the Team Kit but it being a "team kit" it runs some what small. The bib fits but the jersey doesn't so I have exchanged it for a larger one. On the upside the bibs look great with the yellow triple crown jersey, almost a perfect match.

I only wear my race team kit...but I guess I'd wear whatever if I wasn't on a team. I think people get too hung up about what others are wearing...
