Campy Gran Fondo San Diego 4/6

Anyone riding this? Done it in the past? My wife and I are riding the 56-mile course. Curious what the event is like.

I did it last year. It was fun. The only part I didn't like was the several miles of riding through industrial subs with RR tracks crossing at strange angles on the way out of town, and back in again at the end. Not pretty, and some people had trouble remembering to cross the tracks at a 90 degree angle, so they fell. Once out of town, it got a lot nicer. The ride itself was well marked and organized, with nice rest stops. Food at the end was good. Not a lot of climbing compared to some other rides of equal length, so it won't be hard to finish. I am not doing it this year, but I did have a nice time last year.

I've done the Bike the Bay, which goes through that same industrial area. RR crossings and some pretty torn up roads from all the heavy truck traffic are a down side. I am thinking of doing the Giro de San Diego in Sept. Nicer route, but a lot more climbing.
As much as you paid for that Beemer [Mercedies, Audi, Escalade], I'm surprised it didn't come equipped with turn signals.
