Getting shaken pretty hard in the La Habra area yesterday and today
I hope you're all doing well with all of it, especially your dog if you have one. Mine kept me up all last night with all the aftershocks. Kept jabbing her head under my arm for reassurance.

It was almost non-stop from Friday at about 8:00 through Sunday at about 9:00. Even this morning my GF said there were two small (sub 2.5) aftershocks after I left for work. It's actually been somewhat exhausting; not a whole lot of sleep happens when your house is jolty shaking every half hour or so. Luckily I was able to get some bike time both Saturday and Sunday.
FWIW, I'm right at La Habra and Beach, about 1.5 miles from the epicenter of the 5.1 on Friday night.

I can't imagine! I have only felt a few mild tremors in my lifetime. In SW OHIO they are very rare and usually last only a few seconds.

looks like 8 more little teeny aftershocks with a couple of 2s and a 2.1. I'm sure being right on TOP of the shaking makes it a lot more noticeable.
Earthquakes
All the movement looks like it runs between two known faults though. Weird. I reckon it's safe to say the faults don't exactly follow lines on the surface of the map either.

We felt it in South Whittier but no worries; just shook the house a bit but nothing fell off the shelves and the bikes are fine, no worries!

can I blame my now leaking water heater on the earthquake....oh yah thats right, who ever pays for for earthquake insurance.... Lowes has 42 WH installs to just today of it, I'd image how many they had over the weekend.

I think our EQ deductible is 50k, so it's not for things like water heaters, it's for the inevitability that our house is turned into a heap of rubble.
