Looking for a mechanic who can do DI2 internal upgrade for Cannondale Synapse 2014

I have a 2014 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 3 and would like recommendations of shops that have experience in doing these . Preferably Cannondale shop or someone who has worked with Cannondale bikes. I believe the seatpost will need some DIY work since my model is not a DI2 compatible seatpost. Thanks.

Sweet bike do you have any pictures? What do you mean by the seat post? Where are you located?

You don't mention where you live... a new shop just opened in in Orange County called Sho Air Cyclery. It deals in Cannondale and GT and the owner/mechanic is a former pro rider. There is a separate service shop from the retail store and I believe the service shop opens much earlier...

The place just opened May 31 and doesn't seem to have a developed website yet... here are some details:

SHO-AIR Cyclery

https://shoairblog.com/2013/11/26/sho...n-this-spring/

I have not yet been in the shop but friends say its nice.

There is also a Sho Air Cannondale in La Mirada (probably other places since its a chain):

https://thecyclerybikeshop.com/introd...ir-cannondale/

NOTE: The Orange shop is definitely a roadie shop... I looked in the window and didn't see any mountain bikes...

Here is a YELP review:

"Not sure what the 3-star review is all about, but you won't find a better bunch of well-informed cyclist-employees here. I came in thinking I needed to spend another thousand more than I needed, and several employees talked me into getting something more economical with a blend of speed and comfort for those long rides I enjoy on the weekends. I received a great deal and felt they treated me with honesty and fairness.

While they only carry Cannondale and GT, they are some of the best bikes made that encompass an entire range of skillset and cater to all types of riders. I'm VERY satisfied with my purchase and I've already put 700 miles on her.

This place is BIG. It now occupies what used to be THREE stores on the strip, two are for the showroom, and they have an entire separate "store" for the repair shop. The repair shop has a state-of-the-art pro fitting room so you can get dialed in perfectly to your bike. I've had two of my bikes serviced there already and the adjustments were quick (while-you-wait), and very reasonably priced (in some cases free)."

Thanks Pam and Lesper4. I live in Whittier. I was actually at Sho-Air last Sunday. Cyclery is down the street. I'm also looking at Empire and Incycle. I would rather go to a shop that has a lot of experience already with doing the upgrade and preferably a Cannondale Shop. My bike has a new bottom bracket type and doing internal seatpost for the battery. I've had bad experience before none of the shops were mentioned in this post.

But I"m looking for Cdale bikes that had the upgrade and if their exp was good with the tech.

Nothing against young techs but would rather find someone more experienced and takes their time to do it right.

Alright, another cyclist in Whittier. Actually, I think I see you pop up on my Strava feed all the time. You're a brave man riding down beach all the time.

Cyclery? I hope you don't mean the Whittier cyclery. That place just seems one step up from a Toys R Us somehow. My usually bike shop haunts around here are the La Habra Cyclery, Rock and Road (Anaheim Hills) and Performance up in Valencia. I got my wife's Synapse from In Cycle in San Dimas, which might be the largest cannondale dealer near us. Pats 605 Cyclery in Norwalk might not be a bad place to check out either, they also sell Cannondales.

Good luck with your quest.

Pam wrote about The Cyclery at the corner of La Mirada and Imperial in the Home Depot center in La Mirada. They are a great Shop. They changed the fluid and bled the brakes on my mtb recently and charged me less than their original estimate (which I thought was quite reasonable to begin with). Tyler is great and one of their other mechanics was trained at UBI. That said, I'm not sure if they are what Leo is looking for, though.

Leo, I think you should contact Calfee down in San Diego. They offer world class carbon frame repair and "Electronic Retrofits." I've included links to their repair page and their Electronic Retrofit form.

(head smack)

You're right, forgot them. The Sho-Air threw me. Thanks for clarifying.

Leo, Calfee has a dealer program for their repair services and Two Wheeler Dealer at Imperial and Randolph across from Brea Mall is in the progam. TWD is also a great shop and a C-dale dealer. I have had bikes repaired there before. The owner, Tim, is very nice and has great mechanics.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just went with Empire who is our group sponsor LBS. InCycle offered a much lower price but found out from a rider they recently botched a tune up.

TrojanHorse - I think you go by SeanV on my Strava. Beach Blvd is not as bad since its pretty wide and lots of shoulder. Imperial Hwy and Whittier BLvd I will not dare ride on unless its a very short segment.

Yep, that's me. I totally agree about Imperial - I accidentally took it from Harbor to First one day and was scared stiff the whole way. I don't mind Whittier east of First (lots of room) and I guess Beach is OK south of imperial. I've been dropping my daughter off at her carpool by that CVS across from the golf course, it's not as bad as I (mis)remembered.

Stop back and tell us how the upgrade went after Empire is done.
