Comparing Mammoth Fall Century and SLOBC Wildflower

Fellow Centurians, This was my first Mammoth Fall Century and I must say that it was one of the best supported rides ever. The elevation gain for this one was almost the same as the SLOBC Wildflower that I do every year but this latest one really kicked my sit bones good. Seemed to me that the Mammoth climbs were fewer but longer. Than again having the stomach flu could have made it harder too. Anybody else able to make the comparison?

First time riding it this year. Not tuff till the last three miles. Road with a group that went a little faster then I would have gone by myself. What made it tuff this year I think was the wind. Other then that is was supper great. Lots of rest stops! I have never done the wild flower but I would imagine it would be a little easier.

Oddly enough I did the majority of passing the small amount of riders in those last 3 uphill miles. I guess I've learned to ration energy. My new Garmin gave a total of 7450' ascent (1k more than advertised) and maybe that helps to explain the difference in difficulty. Can anyone else confirm?

I've ridden both and while they both have excellent organization and a well marked route, Wildflower scores higher when it comes to food (variety and quality) and Mammoth scores higher when it comes to scenery (variety and quantity).
