Road Apples Galore and More!
The City of Farmington Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs department will host the 35th Annual Road Apple Rally at the Lions Wilderness Park Amphitheater on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.
The Road Apple Rally is the longest running annual mountain bike race in the country and this year we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of this event that started in 1981. The Road Apple Rally offers classes for everyone. Beginners will do a 15-mile loop, all others will do the 30-mile Road Apple Loop. Climbing on the course is minimal, making it fast and fun. There will be numerous top pro riders and racers in attendance.
Register online for the Road Apple Rally at Farmington, NM - Official Website - Road Apple Rally through Wednesday, September 30, 2015, by 5:00 p.m. Late registration will be available at the Farmington Recreation Center, 1101 Fairgrounds Rd., Farmington, NM, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 and a $15 late fee will be added. Packet pick-up will also be at 1101 Fairgrounds Rd,.on Friday, October 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Event-day packet pick-up will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. only. There is NO race-day registration.
Volunteers are needed to help with traffic control to keep the race participants safe. There is a need for increased safety at areas where the Road Apple Rally race trail intersects with roads. There are other opportunities to help with the race as well. Volunteers will work from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on race day and will receive a free Road Apple Rally t-shirt and the appreciation of all involved for keeping the race participants safe.
