New store
I've not heard anything. Can Tucson really support another bike store?? I'd hate to be Fairwheel or Broadway bikes these days.

The rumor is that the Bicycle Ranch in Phoenix will be opening a Trek superstore in a couple of weeks. I don't think this will create more stores than Tucson can support, but some businesses will consolidate locations if they have too many smaller shops right now. But the larger bike shops are pretty well spread out geographically, which is good for bicyclists.

I haven't heard anything either, but I did notice that R&R (Glenn and Campbell) was dropping the "Trek only" concept and moving to another (smaller, IIRC) location in the strip mall. Obviously this is related. Hopefully that'll work out for them.

Fairwheel and B'wy been here 30+ years and are great folks to deal with.
Prefer smaller shops to mega stores. Just what Tucson needs . . . another mega-store.

Just in case it hasn't been noticed, the rumor appears to have substance. A big, lighted "Trek Tucson Bicycle Store" sign went up this morning over the old Checker Auto space at the far west end of the center at Ft. Lowell & Campbell.

The website has been updated. Opening day is set for May 14:
https://trekbicyclesoftucson.com/index.cfm
(Honestly, I have no affiliation with the store or the people.)

Info on the website surely does not bode well for that shop. Opening delayed - May 14 had now become June 4 - and they are supposedly looking for both a sales manager and a service manager!!??
