Last Days to Enter Hoodoo 500
SEPTEMBER 15-17, INAUGURAL HOODOO 500 ULTRAMARATHON RACE: https://www.hoodoo500.com
The Hoodoo 500 now holds the record for the largest field of racers in an inaugural race of this distance! There's still time for YOU to get on the roster! Entries will be accepted until September 1st for solo, relay team and "voyager" (brevet-style) racers. Come race on our spectacular scenic course which meanders through, around or by three National Parks: Zion, Bryce and Capitol Reef; three National Monuments: Pipe Springs, Grand Staircase-Escalante and Cedar Breaks; countless Utah State Parks including Anasazi, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Kodachrome and Snow Canyon, and meanders in and out of the Dixie National Forest.
Team Racers may choose their own strategies. There are few restrictions on when or how often riders may exchange. A team may have one, two, three or four racers on the course at the same time, in a team paceline (although competing teams may not draft each other). It's a ton of fun!
Solo and team racers may bring an unlimited number of crew members and crew vehicles. This allows racers to have fresh and alert crew members at all times (which is especially important on the second day, in hours of darkness, and for those riders who may take more than 40 hours to complete the course). "Voyager" racers have no crew, of course - and must be completely self-supporting, other than the drop bags allowed to three time stations.
When the race is over, we'll all enjoy the Post-Race Banquet - a buffet brunch, fun awards, prizes and sharing of newly created, but long-lasting memories of the awesome Hoodoo 500 experience!
Entry fees include: One t-shirt per rider; two water bottles, one post-race awards banquet ticket per rider plus two crew tickets per solo rider or team; a finisher medal for each successful rider; a finisher jersey for each successful rider, and raffle tickets for racers, crew and staff.
Anyone interested in joining a team? Please send us an email, or post to the bulletin board if you're interested. There's at least one post on the board, and we know of others who are looking. https://www.bbcnet.com/cboard/cboard.asp?cbid=46
During the race, photos and time station splits will be posted in real time. Stay tuned for that!
