Century a Month Club 2009 C-A-M

This thread is an information sharing thread for individuals taking the CAM (century a month) Challenge in 2009.

PLEASE, DO NOT REPLY TO POSTS OR POST ANYTHING OTHER THAN YOUR DATA.

If, when reading this thread, you wish to comment on someone's data, please either PM that member, or alternatively, start a new thread entitled Data Discussion for ____ Ride (or something like that - title your thread as you wish). But most of the rides will be discussed in either the original ride threads or subsequent ride report threads. However, a member may do a ride that hasn't been discussed or for which there is no ride report. So, discussion is great! Just please, NOT in this thread. Thank you for helping out with this...

Please post the data for your century/month as follows:

Date of Ride:
Type of Ride: (group ride or solo ride)
Name of organized ride or route:
Actual Mileage:
Ride Time:
Total Time:
Avg. Speed:
Altitude Climbed: (if available, either by route map, or cycling computer)
Weather conditions:
Synopsis of Ride: (please be respectful as you never know who might read this)

(Remember, even if you don't make all twelve, please still post your data for as many months as you can - all centuries are an accomplishment! So, although this is a challenge, it is in the spirit of camaraderie!) Also, for those who are just crazy enough (like me) to ride more than one century per month, please give us data on those too if you'd like.

Below is the official list that will be updated. If you do not see your name or century months updated, please PM me, and I will update your info. Thank you!

CHECK OUT THE LIST OF RIDES AVAILABLE IN MY OTHER POSTING AND CHIME IN.

ALTHOUGH WE ARE MOSTLY IN LAS VEGAS YOU CAN LIVE ANYWHERE - JUST SIGN UP AND SHARE THE INFORMATION - I PERSONALLY LOVE TO RIDE DIFFERENT ROADS AND CHECK OUT NEW PLACES -- MY HUSBAND - TRAVIS IS ALWAYS DOWN TOO.

Corona Oceanside Century

Date of Ride: Jan 1 2009
Type of Ride: solo ride
Corona Oceanside Loop
Actual Mileage: 143
Ride Time:8.5 hours
Total Time:9.5 hours
Avg. Speed:unknown
Altitude Climbed: 5000 feet
Weather conditions: overcast as wet

I started alone in Corona i rode down the rivertrail bike path to Newport beach. i waited there for about a half hour for some friends. We rode together for the most part to Oceanside thats where i had to part ways with my group. I started through Oceanside to old hwy 395. I rode through the rolling hills on the 395 back to Corona. its a nice long ride for those who want to challenge yourself with some wind and climbing. it would be a lot better with a group of equal skill level.

Type of Ride: Roger Springs from Boulder Beach

Name of organized ride or route: Asia's Ride
Actual Mileage: 100
Ride Time: 6 hrs 33 min.
Total Time: 7 1/2 hrs.
Avg. Speed: 15.5
Altitude Climbed: Unk.
Weather conditions: Perfect Weather Conditions
Synopsis of Ride: Myself & Hollywood started early @ 5 a.m. & rode for the first hr. in the dark. There was alot more traffic than I thought there would be. Where are those crazy people going? We made it to Roger Springs before the food support was there....but we flagged down Asia @ Red Stone and she gave me some yummy gatorade/lemonade combo. This held me over until we reached Calville (Thanks Sonja & Cindy). I felt really good coming back & I think it was a result of slowing down on the first 1/2. At the end of the ride we had yummy hotdogs & hamburgers (thanks Asia's mom/daughter) & my favorite (Corona Lights). Well supported ride & had a great experience.

THIS IS A WELL ORGANIZED RIDE WITH A LOT OF SUPPORT AND GOOD PEOPLE. YOU HAVE TO RIDE IN THE CITY FOR ABOUT THE FIRST 15 MILES OR SO THEN YOUR ON THE OPEN RODE. YOU WILL HAVE ROLLING HILLS ALL DAY. I RIDE IT ALONE FOR THE MOST PART PICKED UP WHEELS ALONG THE WAY WHEN I COULD. VERY WARM DAY IN THE MIDDLE 80'S I WAS SAVED AT MILE 55 BY A COKE AND BIG BOTTLE OF WATER.
