Grand Canyon South Rim, new trail

Has anyone ridden the new trail at the GC south rim? How about just riding in general at the south rim? Is it worth bringing a bike to the canyon?

It's been a while since I've ridden my bicycle around the south rim of the Grand Canyon, but, in my opinion, riding a bicycle there is one of the most scenic rides you'll ever do. There are lookouts every so often that lend themselves to bringing a lunch and making a day of going to all the lookouts. Any trail there would also be fabulous, as well. Probably the big issue would be temperature. Early Fall and late Spring are the best weather-wise. Summer is certainly tolerable but I'd do an early ride...avoid the heat and the traffic.

Don't know about any new trail. Haven't ridden there in 18 years.
Have ridden the highway all the way to Cameron half dozen times.
Great road, scenic. One terrific downhill (50+ mph on our tandem) just before Cameron.
But do suggest starting on the road from the south rim a bit early as all the motorhomes seemn to get out around 9 a.m.
Much less tourist/motorhome traffic once you pass Desert View.
Ideal months for riding would be Sept./Oct. before it gets cold up or late May early June.
Enjoy!
