You riding the mountain bike for 50 miles, to give me a handicap? Tis not a race, but I would like to be able to stay up with you as the birds chase you along the route...

Remember Special Olympics furnish the food, part of your donation for this bicycle ride... Last year it was good eats, from the grill onsite!!!

I was thinking I would take the triple crank off my mountain bike and put it on Flipper! I'm gonna need all the help possible getting up Potosi.

Yes, it is steep, but we can attempt if not finish, then we will be able to practice all year long to do it next time.

The Progressive Insurance's Adjuster has apparently gone on vacation (can not believe they only have one adjuster for bicycles) guessing I need to wait for her to return before I hear anything about replacing my bicycle rack & climbing bicycle that is toast/totaled and unsafe to ride with the frame tweaked in the collision.

Wonder how far can we climb up the 2000 feet this year, or next year practice... 50/60 mph descent speeds seems like great exhilaration if we can climb up the mountain enough.

Potosi Mountain, located in Clark County, Nevada, is one of the six high points surrounding Las Vegas. Potosi Mountain is about 30 miles (50 km) southwest of Las Vegas.

Daspydyr, I have not posted a ride for Monday the 2nd, as I need a starting point closer to the targeted climb. Do not think this should be a beginner ride, as the mountain is going to be a major challenge.

I am doing 64 miles on Thursday, 30 on Friday, Saturday resting, short 30 mile ride on Sunday and the Potosi Mountain on Monday.

I will post tomorrow after a drive out there to see where we should start, thinking Gas Stand on 160, to town of Blue Diamond, and then back to Adam Street, the Mt. Potosi cutoff used by Pedal to the Medal ... Using the Blue Diamond detour as a warm the legs up before starting the 2,000 climb...

Maybe more miles on 160, but i will definitely post the holiday ride tomorrow...
