Sedona Mountain Biking

I'm planning all the stops along my tour of Arizona this summer, and I happened upon the Hermosa Tours website. Turns out there isn't a single organized tour in Arizona in summer. Its looking like Sedona has some very nice mountain biking, and I might want to spend an extra day in the area. Does anybody know of any good club rides that go out regularly?

And I'm looking at websites of various campgrounds around Sedona. Does anybody have any suggestions for places I should look at? Right now it's looking like the Rancho Sedona RV Park is my best bet, but I'm open to advice from someone who knows the area.

MBAA | The Mountain Bike Association of Arizona

This is a link to Mountain Bike Assoc of AZ. they sponsor a great race series and do a ton of trail building. they list a bike shop and race in Flagstaff. That should be close enough to Sedona that they can give you trail guidance.

Sedona is a GENUINE Mountain bike destination on its own. Here are some other trail links that should be helpful.

If you are getting to Sedona, try to get to Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, NV. that is a real playground. Good luck.

Damn, Sedona kicks ass! I was looking at where to camp, and in the end I think I'll go with a motel room just so I can lock my stuff away while I enjoy the trails. I may have to re-arrange my stops just to have more time up in this area.

I found a bike shop called Over The Edge Sports that offers day tours. With any luck I can get in with a tour group.

When I go to Sedona, I am with the wife so ruffing it isn't on the agenda. There are good camp grounds in the area with shower facilities. A must for me after a day of riding.

Congrats on your finds! Post pictures of the trip.

Here is another option if you want to shave a few bucks and camp.

Camping was the original plan because I was just passing through. But if I stay a day or two, I want my stuff locked safely in a room.

That is probably a good idea, people are pilfering campsites. Enjoy
