This is a custom built steel tandem frame from Davidson (Bicycles ? Tandem | Davidson Handbuilt Bicycles) up in Seattle, Washington. It is perhaps the nicest bicycle I have ever ridden - one person or two. However, my partner only rides recumbents now, so the reality is that this bike never gets ridden anymore. As such, I regret to say, I am parting ways with the frameset.
I am asking $550.
It comes with all the tandem-specific parts that you'll need:
-captains cranks, stokers cranks
-both seat posts
There are many great things about this frame that leave little to be desired. It has all the frame mounts, including threaded fender mounts on the fork lowers and on the chainstay and seatstay bridges. It has the clamp style eccentric bottom bracket shell, which has proven to be the most reliable form of tensioning the timing chain. It has good clearance for tires and fenders, I believe we were running 38c's with fenders. More than anything though it has the most beautiful ride quality. Perfect tubing choices made on this frame.
There are quite a few nicks in the paint as can be seen in the pictures, including some pretty significant marring on the chainstay due to chain suck, and one area on the downtube just behind the headset, however the frame is in great riding condition as are all the components that come with it.
Anyway, the captain measures a 58cm and the stoker a 53cm. Feel free to respond with any questions.
If you live far away I would be willing to split shipping, but local pickup is preferred. I live in Santa Cruz, California.
