Asking too much?
Ebay link
Based on a post I made where KonaTandem(?) stated a Tosa was $2000, I'm thinking a 2 year old tandem should depreciate more than ~$115. Comparing this bike to the Tosa specs on Burleys site...this one is standard issue. Only difference is I think now they're putting a rear disk brake on the Tosa.
I know if I could get a brand new 2005 Tosa for 2K I wouldn't touch this one.

I know that Burley actually dropped prices this year. My wife and I were looking at an 04 Paso Doble with the Rolf wheels, carbon fork and rear disk. Well before we committed the dealer sold it. When I called him back he said he could get a 2005 with all of that plus carbon cranks and the bike would be $500 LESS. He got the bike in less than two weeks, but that was in December.
You need to find a Burley dealer and see what the new prices are, or just call Burley. Of course thier website or catalogs don't list prices, but I'd bet you could get that Tosa for close to $2K.

Yes, too much.
Used tandem price estimating tool.
https://www.thetandemlink.com/usedhome.html
Just punch in the current retail value of an '05 ($2,199) and you'll come up with a range of $1,329 - $1,614, depending on condition for an '03 model, etc...
The only exception to these tables are the Co-Motion tandems which are unique in that they extend their lifetime frame warranty coverage to subsequent owner which justifies a high-end or slightly over the high end resale price. Calfee will also transfer the balance of their 10 year warranty to a new owner for $250 but requires that the frame be shipped back to them for an inspection.

I also feel the asking price is a little high but I don't blame him because he probably paid $2,400-$2,500 when he bought the Tosa. Prices have come down for 2005 and the Tosa retails for $2,200, almost identical to last year with the exception of a disc brake in the rear. That said, I actually ordered a Tosa in early April but have not gotten it as of now. According to Burley, they've exceeded their predictions for demand in 2005 and are quoting delivery of 6-8 weeks.
