Our new bike
As I had said in an earlier post, we purchased a NOS Co-Motion Speedster at the Tandems East Expo last Sunday. I was excited to see a new Speedster in our size from the previous frame configuration slotted in the line of about 25 various Co-Motion Tandems. Without saying a word my wife (stoker) said "I'd love to have this bike, I love the color!" standing right by the bike I was eyeing-up. It is a striking blue which really caught your eye. The cool thing is the frame has the headtube extension which really works with my long legs and desire to have the stem set pretty close to level with the saddle. This bike is set-up with disc brakes which is new to us, these are TRP Spyer disc brakes which seemed to be fairly common. I see a thread dedicated to these which I need to read through when I get a chance. Love to hear some of your thought on bike and these brakes.
Our thoughts are to set this bike up more as a sport bike and then set the Bushnell up more for touring with wider tires and maybe geared more like a mountain bike for potential touring in our future. We've had cold rainy weather this week but did get a short 11 mile ride in last night which went well.

Back in 2006 had had my wife's new single painted that color, her favorite. We have received a lot of compliments over the years on it.
Enjoy the new bike, they are faster and smoother and pretty too.

Nice ride. Mel and Barbara are great, we bought our Celeste colored Burley from them back in 2008. Just wish it was as light as a Bianchi.

Thank you for the nice complements. One little snafu, I noticed that the rear brake cable seemed a little loose when we started out on our ride but it was nearly dark when we got home and I put the bike away without checking into that. Over the weekend I decided to check the brakes and found the cable guide under the stoker's bottom bracket was broken and the rear brake cable portion was separated from the other two cables. Called Co-Motion today and they are sending out a new one so I'll have it up and running later this week. It was interesting the person that answered the phone was Ethan who was the Co-Motion representative at the Tandems East Expo. so it was good to talk with someone I had already met even thought he was on the other side of the country.

Congratulations on your new bike. I have had a rear disc brake since 03. Discs were not available on the front at that time. I like the stopping power of the disc and they work in the rain. I recently switched from the Avid mechanical, that was worn out, to the TRP disc. I don't see a big difference except the TRP is easier to adjust. I have found Co-Motion responsive to my questions and needs.
