Bought GT Hybred w/ 700D+extra tires @LBS
My Dad retired a few years ago, then wet macular degeneration took most of his vision. Dad has always enjoyed riding so he has invested in a tandem so he can continue to ride. I found it at a local bike shop at what I thought was a very reasonable price for a CRMO frame. I checked the internet about the GT Hybreds and found many coments warning me NOT TO BUY IT DUE TO 700D tires. The LBS had extra sets of tires so I bought two extra sets and asked the owner if he could order more? he said it should not be a problem.
My question is should I buy up the 3 other sets he has on his tire rack Or is he correct ordering new tires will not be a problem.
Sourced from Bike America?
Interesting reading that people all over the world want this tyre size to fit their GT Continuum or similar ..
Interesting to read the reference that Bike America had plenty - a the time/day of the thread being posted.
Unfortunately Bike America have not replied nor acknowledged receipt of an email I sent them on January 16, 2011.
Pity - looks like my Continuum will be off to the recycle cyclery ...
Drop me an email if anyone knows where to really find two 700D x 1.4 with ISO 587mm tyres (and tubes - always handy to have)

Still looking for my tyres
Anyone found a stash of these tyres yet?? .. currently GT Crossover brand/type. Size is 700D x 1.4 with ISO of 587mm - fitted on Araya RM-20 rims 700D w tube liner. Two (or four) tyres (road tread pattern is fine) would be good and two spare tubes would help as well
My preference is to fit the right tyres and not change the wheels..
