Burley Tosa is here!!

Our new Burley Tosa showed up today! Sweeeeeet! Bought it from a dealer, so even though it's a 2003, it's considered brand new, and as such we have the full warranty on the frame!

Now...we only have 5-6 months of snow and cold to wait through until we can ride it. That's the bummer.

I'll spend the next few months purchasing and outfitting the tandem with a computer, new tires, etc.

Sure feels good to officially be part of the tandem crowd!!!

OK Yoopers, sweat it out 'til the January thaw over in the UP!
When we lived in Michgan (way back in the 70s!) we used to ride our tandem in the winter when it was dry outside and at least 20 degrees.
Usually was a bout a dozen miles ride and dressed for the occasion: Sweatpants/long johns, 2 pair wool sox, ski band, couple layers under a wind breaker and snow mobile gloves!
Shine up that new Tosa, wait for a break in the weather, and 'GO'!!!!
Pedal on TWOgether!

Not to make both of your tandems jealous, but our tandem has been out every day this week! (...and the week before, and the week before, etc.)

Sure, we got drenched this morning here in "sunny" California, but the temp was in the 50s this morning. Wet but not cold.

I wish both of your Tosas many happy outings!

We just transferred here from Alaska (I'm active duty Coast Guard), so we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I'm originally from Traverse City (a troll!), wife is from Elk Rapids.

We wouldn't move even if we could. We love the snow. Snowshoeing, skiing (downhill, x-country), snow-machining, ice fishing. And the fall colors...up here they beat even the colors in New England.

Nope...we'll just suffer till spring!

Oh, and I'll get pictures soon!

Since you foks are from not very far below the bridge, you certainly do understand northern Michigan winters. I said it before, Nashbar has studded tires on sale right now. These would be only if you can't wait

Enjoy your tandem. If we get back up your way, I'll let you know and maybe we can get together.
