Check out this page. Look at the high rise stem dealie about the middle of the page. https://www.tandemseast.com/parts/stems.html
Or you can make your own using an inexpensive stem and a piece of seat post like I did. It works great and gets my stoker's hands up to a more comfortable position. Good luck. OHB

Have you raised the stoker stem UP all the way on the pilot's seatpost? If not, do so.
Also, another set of higher rise bars could be installed to give 3" higher reach for stoker.
Keep the stoker h*a*p*p*y!

We installed a 100mm riser bar for the stoker's position on our mountain tandem. This allowed my wife to see over my shoulders and increased her comfort. It can cost as low as $15usd. Depending on your stoker's cockpit size and stem height/length you may need to fit a portion of your glutes between the bars. Moving the stem outward a bit should resolve any complications with that issue but will increase the upright position of the stoker. The riser bars worked well for our more casual and light offroad riding.

Bear in mind that the captains seat is at its lowest setting.
Im somewhat disabled so I have to be able to get my feet to the ground easily or off into the road we go
I think what we've decided to do is simply replace the mountain-bike like handle bar in the stoker seat to one that is simply taller.
That seems to be the easiest, cheapest route for us at this point.
We've been switching off while we're riding.
The wife is about 5'7' and Im 5'10''...so we can most likely get it comfortable for both of us in both seats....then just trade places if one of us needs to
I love this bike and she seems to as well.
We went for about an hour ride today thru the neighborhood and then around a local cemetary and back....it was a lot of fun

I just went down to the bike shop.
they have a really nice looking handlebar there for a bmx or something...a lot taller, and the same matt finish gray metallic look of our bars for $50 plus the adapter for less than $5.
Looks like an easy fix
seats are next ...

We rode down to the bike shop and bought bar extentions for the stoker seat.
Theyre great and dont mess up the look of the bike

Looks like a great solution. You might want to put some bar tape on them for a little better, more comfortable grip. Now go ride!!
