The survey is for the Click-Stand, the folding portable kickstand that I am making & selling:

It works well with singles or tandems that have 1" or 1 1/8" top tubes, but I would like to adapt to fit others.

Trek T2000 measures out at at about 1-5/8 O.D. Let me know when you've got something that will fit.

I used to do sales and product development in the boating industry. We had a number of items that would have to be adaptable to fit on more than one diameter tube size. Look around the marketplace and you should be able to find 2 or 3 or 6 different methods to make your product adaptable to multiple tubing diameters within 1,2 or 3 ranges.

I think it is an interesting idea. Consider a small bag with velcro type straps to attach it to one of the tubes for storage.

1 5/8" carbon fiber on a Zona tandem. Suggest telescoping that wand instead of sections.

About 1 1/2" on aluminum Soverign Tandem and 1 1/4" on Cabrio Steel Triple, both Santana. Good luck with your product.

dude, you want it compatible with the largest cross section of bikes, make the attachment "cradle" semi-flexible and closed with something elastic. Free engineering advice from Dr. ElRey

Nice idea! I think you'll need a non-slip foot. And wheel flop on a tandem is usually what makes them unstable. So one of those front wheel clips is probably advisable too. A two-legged "scissors" stand with rubberized fork at the top would eliminate the need for top tube adjustability and provide more stability for working on the bike or getting into rack packs.

Actually the only time I have had a problem with the foot slipping is on very slick surfaces, polished concrete or linolium(sp). Alomost all of the outdoor spots don't pose a problem. You don't angle the stand out much when you lean the bike on it. Here is whole bike in the picture above;



The front wheel always flops because of the bar bag, I just straightened it up for the picture. I think you can see one of the two bungee "parking brakes" that are on the levers. Unloaded just one on the rear works, but loaded, or on a tandem both are needed, or the front wheel can flop & roll sideways. I looked at two legged stands, but they don't work well on slopes. The main idea behind the Click-Stand is to support the bike above the center of gravity, and still fold up to 10" to carry. Under 90 grams as well.

Notice that leather handlebar wrap is coming back, a bit pricey, but good lookin' and long lasting

Thanks, boy, I feel bad discussing my touring bike here! My wife & I do have a tandem, just no pictures....yet. I am looking at sew on elk hide handlebar wrap. They are from VeloOrange:

They sold me the elk hide strips for the toeclips. The Brooks wrap looked a lot better wheen it was new. They have faded a bunch, and I'm not sure what to do about it!

Sorry, people alreay have. I guess that it isn't obvious that it folds. It is 8" long when folded, and weighs less than 90g's.

On the leather handelbar/toeclip wrap fading. There is leather shoe dye on the market. Years ago we had brown leather wrap on bars on our tandem; it started looking discolored so dyed it black, then waxed it.
