dude, please take a look at the 2nd picture posted of this bike. That's probably what you'll look like riding it. A$$ets way up in the air and your head pointing towards the ground. NOt balanced. NOt comfortable.

The chance someone your size will find a used tandem for sale is remote. Again, a new Cannondale is cheaper as well.

I own a Cannondale and a Co Motion Supremo. And a stable of pro racing machines. If it don't fit, it don't work. Like a pair of shoes.

Contact Mel at Tandems East. He ships and won't rip you off. Get the right size or you won't stand a chance of enoying the experience.

dude, the Periscope Large is also a 22.5 front toptube. Way too small. Toptube measure is teh way you determine fit, not the height of the saddle. Otherwise, the geometry between you and the drivetrain won't be right. Seat height is adjustable.

You gotta start with a good fit. As an example, the Cannondale XL/S tandem has a 24cm front toptube. That's alot closer to what you'd need. I don't want to sound like a Cannondale shill, but for $2000 they're a good place to start tandeming. And you'd be in the right size.

I'm pretty sure ElRey meant 24". 24cm is a little under 10".

Do you want a road bike or a mountain bike because this bike and the previous bike you are looking at are two very different bikes?

Check out the Tandem Club sites in your area - For example:

Have set up a 26"-wheeled Peri for a 6'4" guy with shorter stoker; stoker who is 5'3" also wanted to pilot same tandem with her kids.
Solution was to order the new tandem with an uncut steerer tube and use lotsa spacers to adjust stem height for both the tall and short pilots, utilizing an optional Co-Mo adjustable pilot stem so reach could be adjusted for short and tall pilots. Worked great for them.
At 6'6" you may be stretching the fit limit a bit.
A Delta stem extender could bring up the pilot's handlebars sufficiently enough to suit you.

Good Tandem, not the right one for your height you will be sorry. Like another poster said you can get the X/S or J/L size Cannondale depending on witch size fits for around $2400. Cannondales are very nice tandems for the money. Getting a good tandem that will fit you is the way to go. Good luck finding a used tandem to fit a 6.6" guy in that price range.

Best of luck to you,
Bill G
