'07 BF Tandem Owner's Gallery

Seeing that it's been a while since I did my first "What Do You Ride" thread back in 2002 and since then many folks have either come on board or gotten new rides, I thought it would be nice to "capture" them all in an updated gallery.

Here's our late 2006 Co-Mo Speedster. Attached seat pack is for shorter rides / warm weather. Most of the time the seat pack goes in a trunk on the rack.

Here's our 2006 Team Niobium - recently added the rear disc and playing with the handlebar tape. (If I've attached file correctly - when I preview it I don't see anything)

That first one might be a little hard to ride with no pedals Mark...

Plus the timing chain looks a little slack...

You people have some nice tandems! (and obviously alot more money than me )

Here's my lowly Schwinn, I just bought it last night for $50 and spent the evening finding ways to fit a family of five on it and took a practice ride with my wife. I think we have it figured out, I'll add pictures of the fully loaded beast tomorrow.

Something a little different, my almost-vintage 1980 Kuwahara with a few modifications. That's a 16-spoke Shamal on the front, and a 36-spoke rear I built on an 8-speed Campag hub. Next step is to install a carbon fork and get rid of those stupid front v-brakes, replacing them with dual-pivot sidepulls like on the rear.

Here's a picture our triplet. I'll take a better one next to a wall or something soon. Its a built-up chuck's bike triplet frame. Changes from last year are the handlebar tape (pink in middle, skulls on back), click-stand, road morph frame pump, and frog pedals for the middle stoker. She could finally climb up by herself 5 years old, but couldn't engage the locking mechanism on SPD's or eggbeater's. In the frogs, she can climb up and clip in (and out) all by herself. One other change is that we now ride out of phase (discussed on a different thread).

I've posted her many times before, but he she is ready for the '07 season - if Spring would ever come:

No major changes. I did get a little longer stem, slightly different saddle, and after a full season I retired the original Bontrager Hard Case tires. The Hard Cases were bullet proof, but the new Conti GP4000's feel great and they even come in red.

We are also hoping for a third rider a little more often this year - we will see :

We also kept out first tandem, and set it up with a kid-back kit. Our son is still a little small for his Piccolo, but likes to "tag-a-long" just the same.

It is time I quit lurking hereabouts. I've enjoyed, and learned much here these past two seasons. Thank you.

Here is our 2003 (?) Meridian tandem. I purchased the frame as a close-out in the winter of 04-05, and had great fun building it. Over the course of two seasons use, it has gradually become our preferred bike. We have had so much fun with it that we ordered a new road tandem frame..due to arrive in the next couple weeks. I can hardly wait.
