Wipperman (or other) One-Piece Timing Chains?
Anyone know of a shop that sells these (as opposed to putting them together from two regular chains)? Wipperman site suggests these are available, but are unresponsive to emails.

No idea other than special order at the LBS where to ge tthe Wipperman but after my use of their 10 speed chain I would get one of those anyway....Nashbar sells one for $30 that is made for them by KMC.

Sync chains aren't all that persnickety because they aren't used for shifting, and one can usually use from a 6 speed to a 9 speed chain as a timing chain. So, this is one of the few places I tend to go cheap. Several months ago Nashbar had recumbent 8 speed and 9 speed (KMC Z chain) on sale for about $10. I bought 3 or 4 of them and they're just fine for this application. They still sell them, but the price has gone up (at least for now). I shortened one of the 8 speed chains and put it on a Surly Long Haul Trucker I built up and rode coast-to-coast from early March to early May, and it worked without a problem. That's my $.02 on timing chains.
