bikeshop in South Africa with tandem experience?

Please see my thread "Help for a world tandem tour"

https://www.bikeforums.net/tandem-cycling/356910-help-world-tandem-tour.html

Can anybody suggest a bikeshop in South Africa with tandem experience? Not sure yet if Johannesburg or Cape Town, but either or both would be useful. I have come across the name of a tandem manufacturer in SA, Ravelin, but I could not dig up a website for them so I don't know if they still exist

The team in question expect to be in South Africa on November 17.

Thanks.

While we do not know of a tandem bike shop in South Africa, here is the connection ot the Tandem Club of South Africa, which could give your friends a lead on where to go.
tandemcyclingsa.co.za or mdk@tandemcyclingsa.co.za The club is located in J'burg.

Thanks Rudy, I had independently reached the same site on my third Google search where a link came up to a news item on the founding of the club in TandemGeek's site: https://www.thetandemlink.com/oldnews.html.

Noting that my Web site is non-commercial / non-revenue generating and for future reference, you can locate any of the tandem clubs that have made their presence know to me by one of several ways at https://www.thetandemlink.com

On the banner / navigation bar you'll notice there is a link button for"Clubs" and clicking on that will take you to a map of the world where you'll find flags that are hyperlinked to tandem club contact information that appears in a table further down on that page. You'll also notice 10 small national flags on the banner: they too are hyperlink buttons that will either take you to contact information or to a sub-page if that country has multiple tandem clubs, e.g., US & UK.

The rest of the site works is a similar way, noting that the name "The Tandem Link" is in fact a description of what this site started off life as: a large collection of links to on-line tandem-related information and resources. Yes, you'll occassionally find dead links, as the site was built several years ago whilst I was having a long bout with insomnia. When I'm told a link is broken I fix it, but that's about it. Tandem Club information can also be somewhat illusive. I attempt to update it each year, often times with mixed results as tandem clubs sometimes just disappear, e.g., TOYS and I don't always know when a new one is established.

It's there, it's free, and it also banner-free... Low tech at best, so no data harvesting or hit counts are even taken.

Many thanks for the referal, I will do my best to muster some help and support for a fellow tandem rider. Just a little correction but I am based in Cape Town.

Cheers,
mdk

Ja, die baie mooi wonderlike kaapstad waar alles maar net mooi is en selfs wanner die Suid Ooste wind teen 30 knope waai want die tandem maak alles lekker maklik.

OK, back to English . . . sorry 'bout that!
No, Zona has not lived in 'Suid Afrika'; however, born in Belgium and hence speaks Flemish, Dutch (among others). Suid Afrikaans is very closely related to Dutch (as they settled the area back in the 1700s, followed by the Brits later on).
Also during Korean war we had a batch of great South African flyers (2nd SAAF Squadron) who were delighted to find a Yank that could palaver with them. Heck, they even made me an honorary squadron member.
mdk555 is just braggin (and rightly so) about Capetown, where everthing's beautiful, even when a strong 30 km wind can blow out of the southeast, still makes tandeming very pleasant.
At least your world travelers have found a connection in Capetown!
