Tire Recommendations: 700x32 / 35
I'm looking for tire recommendations from tandem riders who have toured with panniers and a trailer. I curious as to which tires you have used, and what your impression of them was.
I am looking for a tire that has a high psi rating from the manufacturer, and that will possibly allow a few extra pounds to be added without blowing off the rim.
I currently run with Continental Top Touring 2000's, 700x32. We'll be leaving on a tour in about 3 weeks, and I'd like to check the market, and other riders input, before buying the next set.
Thanks!

I'll second the opinion on the Panaracer Paselas. We run a 700x35 on the rear and a 32 on the front. A good, reasonably priced tire. Rudy! You're in Duluth! We are jealous! Thats one of our favorite places in the US.

Hi,
Panaracer makes a new tire called Crosstown. It's a rugged tire with what looks like a 3M reflective sidewall. My LBS recently got one in and I like it a lot. I just don't run tires that big.

George Handy in soggy TX:
Duluth is where we are spending 3 months to escape the warm weather at home in Tucson, AZ. C-o-o-l riding; temps have not yet reached 80 degrees!
Glad you concur on the Paselas; we had occasion to ride 'em just recently and were favorably impressed.
We've also ridden in TX: the Austin area and Brenham area during one of the Southwest Tandem rallies.
We concur: Yes Duluth is a unique place to ride!
