Tandem holiday ideas

Hi all
Just trying to plan a tandem holiday and looking for ideas. Years ago I rode the US pacific highway and really enjoyed it for the views and the ease of navigation. So I'm looking for something similar. The US is a good start, but as we're located in the UK, happy to travel pretty much anyway. Thanks all.

There are tons of threads on the Touring forum addressing just such questions. I'm sure you'll get thoughtful answers here, but I would check the other forum as well. Seems to me with the load those folks tend to carry their terrain preferences might not be that different from those of us on a tandem.

I live in California and the coast highway is nice, but there many interesting inland routes as well.
Some go through wine country in Northern and central California. There are mountains to climb in many of the western states, Sierras, Cascades, Rockies.

If I lived in the UK I would be considering France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain.
Never been there but it looks spectacular.

Catalunya Spain!

I did 14 days of cycling in Catalunya Spain. I based out of the coastal town of Sitges (West of Barcelona), and did day rides. Great area for cycling year around!

I just moved from Bahrain to Sicily. I'll have my tandem next week and will start exploring Sicily with my wife. To date I've been using a rental half bike, and have found some great riding on the volcano near Catania. So far Sicily is looking to be a great place for cycling, and would guess the winter weather isn't too bad either.
