Burley Samba Softride?

Hi youall is a samba softride selling for a$550 a good buy if in good condituons?
Does anybody knows what are the opt ions or availabvilty for replacing a beam if it get damaged or getting replacement pivot bolts? Is there a source you gouy know of that do this kind of work? Does anybody know if seap post can be retrofited if needed to accept a standar seatpost?
If not what should I offer for this bike knowing that if it brakes I can not fixt it?
Thanks in advanced for your help

$550 sounds a bit high and retrofitting to accept a seat post mast with keyhole and lock collar would be cost prohibitive.

Depending how old, how well it fits and how many miles are on it would influence the price.
You can always low-ball the asking price and come up if need be.
Have never heard of a beam or pivot bolt failing on tandem.
Mel Kornbluh at Tandems East *may* carry some beam or bolt replacements. He bought a lot of Burley stuff when Burley quit building tandems.
Having a bike builder retrofit a standard rear seat tube on a Burley could be co$tly.
Just our input.

Is that beam built y Softride? They are still selling bolts and service parts. I bought a bunch last year for our CoMotion Softride. They sell a service kits for $10+-, I beleive it was. I am always keeping an eye out for another beam, as I will have a hard time pleaseing my stoker.

Thanks to all for your help. Today I bought the Burley with Softride beam! with LX rear derailur, Shimano V brakes and put like new Kenda 1.25" tires on. So far we love it. It feels so light and it handles so well. This afternoon rode 10 miles with grandson were crussing at 15-17 mph with same effort that took to do 9-11 in the Kent. And on a windy day.
