Tyler and Papa's big adventure

Perhaps you recall that last year my then almost 6 yo grandson was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Well, he's now cancer free (6 mo.) and we are making the most of every minute.

Tyler and I set out on the Lambo Tandem for some errands. First we had to deliver some things to Tarrevella HS for Nana. After that we came back home by the canal. Got up to 24 mph for a while.

Later we had to go to Coral Springs Medical center for Tyler's Physical Therapy session. He spent January and Feb in the hospital and he got a bit atrophied He's doing so well now. Then we visited daddy at his work. Finally we headed home to play in the back yard, chasing the dogs through the sprinklers. But then Mama come go get him so he could go home for dinner before Cub Scouts.

What a day. Here's our ride.

That's great! It's wonderful that you're taking him out to do that.

Excellent! I'm sure that Tyler is having a real blast riding tandem with you! Thanks for sharing the good news!

Good show! Tyler is fortunate to have a grandfather like you and it sounds like you consider yourself fortunate as well. Carry on!

Now THERE is an understatement! In 2002 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 male breast cancer. I consider each day a gift. Especially the days with Tyler.

"Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."

So much fun. A couple weekends ago while my wife was out of town my daughter and I spent the day on the bike doing a long tour around town. It was a long ride with lots of climbing but we weren't in any hurry and just took our time with stops for lunch, the farmer's market and ice cream.

I'd never seen http://ridewithgps.com before. What a cool site. I mapped our route here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/72200. Yes, the last climb is a as bad as it looks but we just granny geared our way up with one stop due to rear wheel losing traction. Getting re-started was a pain.
