1 1/4" headset
I have a Trek T100 that has road components. It has a steel fork with a 1 1/4" threaded headset and stem. I found a good deal on an Ouzo carbon fork with 1 1/4" threadless steerer. I now need to find a 1 1/4" threadless headset and stem. I can get the headset from Chris King even though I was hoping to find one for less money. I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a stem? LBS suggests I might have to shim a 1 1/2" stem. Thanks for reading.

Precision Tandems has both the headset (CK - I see what you mean about the price) and stems. I also have one used take-off from a Santana, but what are the odds it is the right size/rise? It's a 130mm, ~12 degree rise (bar center even with top cap of stem).

Actually, any of the tandem speciality dealers will have them in stock and you can also have your LBS order from QBP... Mark @ Precision will take good care of you, as will Mel at TandemsEast, Jack @ TandemsLtd, etc...
As for cost, you could always use the much more affordable DiaCompe Aheadset 1.25" headset -- more like $70 -- and Ahead stems -- $35 -- instead of the premium-priced components if you were so inclined. Linky

I recently replaced the 1.25" stem on my 1994 C'dale M700 with a Santana.
I bought it from Precision Tandems:
