Anyone heard of a Norco "Baja" tandem? Help me id this.
My hub and I have been considering a tandem and one came up locally for really cheap. Looks like a '90s vintage, low end but good condition. Was wondering if anyone has this bike, I would like to know if it is decent tubing, or a super heavy hi tensile frame.
This one is light blue in colour and I am pretty sure from the pic that it says "Baja 2".

Norco is still in business, they make low end bikes. Their new tandem has an MSRP of less than $1000. Norco's online Archives only go back to 2005 so theres no info there.
Looks like the one you're asking about may be a Cape Cod model possibly mid 90s. Here's a link to someone that was selling one last fall for $150.

And another asking $800 Canadian!

I just want a decent frame, if it is cro mo I could make it into something decent. Yea I found ziltch online about Norco tandems as well. By the brakes it looks '90's, I just want to know bout the frame material, I can go look at it but it's like 1.5 hours away. Eh.

Dollars to donuts it's plain steel, not cro-mo. Clue is the chain tensioning system. All high-end frames have an eccentric bottom bracket for adjusting the transfer chain tension, not an external idler wheel.

If we recall correctly, Norco is a Canadian outfit selling usually low grade bikes (including that tandem).
If you are into any serious riding (10 miles or more) don't waste your $$ on it.
