Edge 800 setup

For thosE off you who have the Edge 800 what rider weight did you use? Did you use the total team weight or just the weight of the rider using the 800. I initially used my weight but am considering using the team weight, my logic is that it will calculate total calories burned and then I can divide it by the percent of individual riders weight. Does that make sense?

we have an 800 in the captains compartment and a 500 on the stoker bars. We put each of our weights as well as half the bike weight in each. I am sure it isn't any more accurate than anything else but we figured we are each carrying our own weight plus half the bike. There was no good way to figure in the wind resistance factor.

We are running an Edge 800 on my Captain's bar and an Edge 305 for the Stoker. We entered our individual weight in the user profile on our own Garmins and in the bike profile we entered half the bike weight on each one. I guess without power meters, you really can't measure the output difference between riders on a given ride.

I swap our Edge 500 between my singles and the tandem, so I just use my weight.

The calorie function on these devices is at best a WAG, so not much is lost.

Edge 705 on captain's bars, edge 800 on stoker's top tube. (Captain is lusting for Edge 800, and the CycleOps Joule 2.0. Captain is testing the limits of spending restraint on a daily basis.) We use individual rider weights plus half of the bike's weight in respective units. Caloric burn seems to be more scientific after installing power meters, much to stoker's dismay.
