Need help to interpret Cannondale serial number

Good Day! I am looking to buy a used C'dale tandem. The seller tells me that its about 8 years old, and hasn't been riden much at all due to some injuries. There is no model number on the frame. The serial number is xxxxx xMTxxxx. I have looked on vintage cannondales and the codes don't match anything close to the number that he gave me. And it seemed that the formulas were for single bikes anyhow. Cannondale rep wasn't sure but thought that the M was for 2001 and the T should be an I and that would mean Septmeber. The last 4 digits were a production number. This doesn't seem right to me. It seems reasonable to me that the 4MT would be mountain tandem built in 2004, and the last 4 numbers following the MT would indicate size of captain and stoker positions. The first 5 numbers then baffle me. Any suggestions?

We have one and it has stamped 4RMTXXXX, it also has a sticker with a bar code and RXXXXXX, unknown what that is. We were told this was a 2008 when we purchased it used in March. The previous owner then said he purchased it new in 2008. BikePedia lists ours (by color) as a 2006. https://www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/B...ndem&Type=bike and says this model was made 2004-2006.
