Loving how the Cannondale came out
Earlier this fall I was asking about upgrading or replacing our 1998 Cannondale RT1000. We decided to slow things down a bit and just tune-up and tune-in the Cannondale. We did an overhaul of the bike at our LBS which included new chains, chain-rings Bottom Brackets and some of the cables. The Bike is working great. We then got a new bar and stem set-up for the stoker which really looks good, she was struggling with the old set-up. This gets her sitting up a bit more which should help her hands. I also had our LBS build a new set of wheels. Shimano 40 hole hubs with Velocity Rims, this pair will not have the drum brake as our other set has so we will have both. When we hung the bike on the scale with pedals and rear rack it weights 38.5 pounds which I thought sounds pretty good.
We want to get some riding in so are planning to leave the day after Christmas and head south to see if we can find some 60 degree weather. We were hoping it would be Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC but it looks like Charleston, SC might be the spot. It was weird the temperature was within 3 or 4 degrees along the corridor between Charlotte and Atlanta, all in the lower 50's. Any ideas would be helpful!

56 degrees this morning in St Pete (Treasure Island) FL.
We're rethinking this evening's Holiday ride.

What! 56 degrees, that is a heat wave. LOL, from the frozen midwest, we will ride the trainer later today and wish it were 56 degrees outside. We ride outside if it is 35 and above.

We are still trying to figure out what our winter riding routine will be. We've got the two bikes on trainers in the basement but love to get out when we can.
rickbyb you are not making me very hopeful with that report. We have no destination so I'm just going to keep checking weather dot com and decide on Wednesday morning. :-)
DubT I talked to my folks in central Iowa and they got hammered yesterday. Funny thing they are in their 80's and left this morning to go to Minnesota for Christmas.
We were thinking of heading out to see them when we thought they were going to be home alone for the holidays but found out they were heading north to see other family so that opened up the time for a southern loop.

Bloody cold here this morning, 52F! The coldest for almost a year, I think. I was planning to ride, but have come down with a chesty cold and cough just in time for Christmas, so I'll stay home.
What about showing us a picture of your C-dale.

I am glad you like the way your tandem came out. It sounds like it fits your needs well. The siren song of the latest technology calls to us all but sometimes yesterday's high tech still performs well. Now that you are getting the bike dialed in the job is to wear it out having a good time!

Thanks all, I'll snap a picture today. We're planning to head to Greenville, SC for our get away. It looks like 50's are as good as we will get. Now need to get a couple of nice loops to ride.

Today's ride
We took the bike out for a tuning in ride with my Stokers new set-up. It's not pretty but she is liking it. Tandems East hooked us up with the bar extension and riser along with the wider stoker bars. Have ridden the new wheels. They are Shimano 40 hole with Velosity Dyads mounted with Race Lite 700x28.
