    Tandemdelema

I have 1500 bucks and want a Tandem? I see a used Burley in S. Iowa, or possibly a new Cross KHS? I am Six three, I want the more retro throwback look, but do like tech. Any Ideas or recommendations.
    Thanks

Best bang-for-the-buck is a used Cannondale, especially for someone who is big. You didn't mention the size of your stoker... If they can handle a Medium, something like this would be good:

....read the Where to Start sticky -- some good stuff in there about selecting a tandem, and lots of good links.

    +1

Plus, if you are patient, you may be able to find a MT (mountain tandem) model that has flat bars and handlebar shifters. That may fit your riding style better than the road bike style bars and shifters on the RT models.
