Photo Tour of Co-Motion Factory

Head on over to BikeRumor.com to see a tour of the Co-Motion factory, including lots of pics of tandem tubes and frames under construction. This is just part 1 of a 3-part piece, so I'll post links to the other parts once they are available.

Part 2 is now available, on their in-house CNC machining.

And now Part 3, on painting.

Have toured Co-Motion's splendid facility in Eugene, OR. right after it opened.
Also checked out their shop way-back-when in a converted back-street garage in Eugene when they were just getting started with three of the owners as the only employees.
Two of the three original owners are still working: Dan Vrijmoet and Dwan Shephard.
As the saying goes: "they've come a long ways!!!"
Owned one of their early custom tandems and put 57,000 miles on it.
Great folks, great product!
Pedal on TWOgether!

One of these days I'll have to stroll on over to their facility. It's such a long walk, though.

It's interesting how few Co-Mo's I see locally. Then again, I don't see all that many tandems around here.

Been to Co Motions plant three diffrent times over the years, had a guided tour two of the three times. It's a really nice facility and very well ran. We met the guys that built our last two Co Motions even had a blue print that had been signed by each of the guys that worked on the building of the tandem frame.

Ride Safe all,
Bill G

Interesting to see how the bike parts are built. I have not been to Co-Motion but I have been through the Serotta factory in Saratoga, NY.

Were there any tandems being built?

I was there in 2002, and they were not building tandems at that time or haven't ever since as far as I know. That must be an old frame in the picture.

While I seriously doubt that my wife/stoker/navigator & myself will ever make it out to the factory, at least our frame & fork will. The "boat" was being shipped back to Eugene last week for a a strip & repaint, plus replacing a braze-on. We really hope to wow the GTR crowd in May. Thanks for posting the links.

I've been to the Co-Motion factory twice over the years. Both times got a warm welcome and a tour of the place. Great people there.
