Thoroughly Tandemized Now

Well, it's been just over a year since I got the new tandem, I've put 10,000km on it in that time, and had an experience yesterday that showed I was now thoroughly tandemized. We were well into a 400k brevet, and stopped at a convenience store. I went into the store to get stuff, walked to the back of the store, and started to say something over my shoulder to Sharon, assuming she was STILL right behind me. Oops! Doesn't work that way!

that's a lot of miles in a year, you must be living on the bike! and communicating!
Ride on!

Back in the 80s and the 90s we were averaging 10,000+ miles annually on our tandem(s).
We do live in Arizona and can ride '13 months out of the year'. And, yes, pilot was employed full time.
Since retiring in 1995 we've gradually cut down some on our tandem mileage; we no longer do centuries, tours and all the hard climbing we used to do.
Now at ages 80 and 78 we still ride TWOgether several times a week.
We are not only grandparents, we now have 2 great-grandkids.
So, 10,000 KM is not unreasonable for younbger folks!

Pedal on!

Yeah, Sharon may not have been there, but the half-bike wheelsucker would still be tucked in right behind you.

Was this Cleburne?

It was the Cleburne ride, that happened in Santo.

I have been caught regularly calling out bump while driving with the wife.
