Will Arai drum brake from BMX work on tandem

Hi,
I've got a chance to get an Arai drum brake from a BMX wheelset and wondered if it would work on a normal tandem. We've got an older Trek Tandem (T100 or T200- can't remember at the moment) and the hub is threaded. Looking at the photos, it seems like the brake I see on most tandems has a large cooling fin that the BMX brake doesn't seem to have. Any thoughts/information would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Lyle

+ Arai Drum Drag Brakes Thread on like a freewheel. onto the left side of the Hubs.. its RH thread too.

but being on the left, and braking forces, tightens the brake onto the Hub.
[they were discontinued, so off to auctions to find any]

You can buy Sturmey Archer Hubs with Drum brakes on one side and cassettes on the other..
36hole..

Does anyone have any experience with the Maddox drum, or know where to find any pictures, etc?

Anyone interested should contact Mel at Tandems East. Here's an old blog post by TG with a photo:
