    Looking for a headset

I know this is a long shot but perhaps one of you can help. I'm looking for a headset for our '82 Peugeot TH8. It is the now-unusual tandem standard of the day, 30mm crown race ID, and 28mm x 1tpm threads. I may have a lead on one, but a spare is always nice to have on hand. If necessary I may look into having a local machine shop make one though it could be costly. I realize the bike is old and by some of your standards obsolete, but we like it, my sweetie/stoker loves it. We've ridden it 3600 miles in the last 18 months.

    Thanks.

So many questions. Okay, so it's only two.

The HS on it now is what I installed when I restored the bike a few years ago. It came with a collection of parts that accompanied the frame, was not the original and had unknown history. It is okay for now but not great and will not last indefinitely. I have the original parts too, minus the thread-on upper race. Eventually and possibly sooner than I'd like I'll have most of two badly worn HS's.

So I'm looking for a spare which will eventually become an essential replacement. I'd rather not have to replace the nice (and original) double-crown fork.

Everything else on the bike is either in fine shape for many more miles or can be replaced with available parts. The HS however is a different story, essential and always taking a beating.
