Our bike has bullhorn for the stoker. This is our first bike and she doesn't have/never had a single. We've been tandeming(?) for a year now.
I am now very relaxed in the drop position and ride there frequently for different posture as well as aerodynamically. I can't but help but think if she had drops also, she could get out of the wind and we could be more efficient. (i.e. faster!)
So I am asking for any pros/cons for stoker moving to drops for teams that were in my position.
Did it work for you or not?
I'm guessing we may have to have her bike fitting adjusted.
Thanks

I ask my stoker on a regular basis if she is comfortable and her response recently has been, I am very comfortable, do not touch anything!

You are not limited to drops vs bullhorns. Although not many use them my stoker prefers a variation on a flat bar that provides different angles for the hand position with a little variation in the degree of "leaning".

Drops can be tricky for the stoker when climbing out of the saddle. My wife found her knees hitting the drops. We switched to bullhorns for this reason and looking at times, no difference in flat speed but big difference in speed of climbing short (2-300m) 15-20% grades since easier to get out of the saddle.

My stoker used regular upright mountain/comfort handlebars on our previous bike, now she's trying drops. Positioned correctly, she is enjoying the drops for now.
