Burley Rumba value
Hi everyone,
I am trying to get into tandem into tandem cycling and have located a clean later model Burley Rumba with the following upgrades: 105 Shimano STI Shifters , 9 Speed Cassette , Chris King Headset , Rear Drum Brake Kit , Center Stand , Flight Deck Computer, Custom Stoker seat w/ Shock post.
Can anybody give me an idea of a price that would be fair to buyer and seller? Any other thoughts?
Thank you.

Here's a link to "The Unofficial Used Tandem Price Estimating Tool":
https://www.thetandemlink.com/usedhome.html
If you work through the process on that page you can come out with a fair number. There's also lots of good thought-provoking info in the text that accompanies the tool.
Also, FYI, the web page and the Tool are created by TandemGeek, who posts here on this forum.

That brings into play the numerous ones on ebay, including the Burley with a BIN of $725 today, etc. If I could get a nice upper-tier (for the era) Santana Sovereign that fits well for $1,200 (typically can do this), then I wouldn't want to spend much more that about $800 for a mid-tier Burley. The other way to comp a used bike is to hit the websites and bounce it off what a new similar bike would run. A new Chromo Hotika is similar or a new Santana Arriva is a bit higher brow, but for $2995 at full retail... Those might lead one to offer something like $1,000 to $1,200 for the used bike.
Re-reading this I am not sure it helps, but hope it does. Overall best advice I guess is to avoid buying one that you will want to start upgrading as that leads to a black hole of costs...
/K
