Choosing between CLD or CX11 White Ind hub?
I'm looking at building up a new 32h rear wheel in 135mm spacing (maybe 142mm thru axle, either way it's the same hub shell) and 11 spd compatible. This is of course for our tandem and we are a ~260lb team and do not do loaded touring. We currently have a 32h 145mm MI6 rear, but now are respacing the Calfee to 135mm.
White Industries has both the CLD (Centerlock Disc, and the CX-11 (IS 6-bolt disc) hubs. White Industries - Disc Brake Rear Hubs
CX11-135:
Center to Flange (left) Center to Flange (right) Flange Diameter OLD
36.0mm 19.0mm 60mm 135mm
CLD:
Center to Flange (left) Center to Flange (right) Flange diameter (left) Flange Diameter (right) OLD
33mm 19mm 45mm 55mm 135mm
I like the idea of having the Centerlock option (and lighter base hub weight), but questioned WI about the flange specs. WI says the CLD hub is equally strong "due to engineering around the rotor mount and we can use slightly smaller material with the CLD due to the interface which results in a lighter hub.".

FYI, in case anyone is interest... I haven't decided yet what to do with the slightly used Mi6 145mm disc hub on our current wheel. Either sell the hub by itself or the entire rear wheel. I'm thinking of just selling the hub by itself as the most straight forward and easiest to ship. PM me to discuss.

My WI CLD hubs are being laced up right now. As soon I receive the frame from Calfee I will let you know my experience with thru axle and 135 spacing.

From the specs above, the CX11 looks like it would build up a stronger wheel. However, I like the idea of having the Centerlock option (and lighter base hub weight), but the flange specs don't seem quite as good. WI says the CLD hub is equally strong "due to engineering around the rotor mount and we can use slightly smaller material with the CLD due to the interface which results in a lighter hub.", but I suspect that might not tell the whole story such as spoke stress, etc.
Wheel builder opinions?

Respacing the Calfee to 135mm should do wonders for your chain line.

Me too with the 135mm CLD (but sticking with QR due to TA modification delays that would have occurred) and have a 203mm RT99 Saint rotor waiting.

Picked up the the new 11spd WI CLD hubbed wheel, built by my LBS - Two Wheeler Dealer in Hayden. I had it built using DT Aero Comp spokes again.
Mounting the CenterLock rotor (Shimano Saint RT99 ICE 203mm) is a real snap, so I anticipate always removing it for packing and traveling to minimize the risk of bending the rotor. FWIW, this rotor+lockring weights 6gms less than the IS/6-bolt XT ICE rotor when you include all the mounting bits. The 135mm CLD hub is some 100gms lighter than the 145mm Mi6.
Surprise, my old TL-HG15 tool fits the lockring splines, but bottoms out internally before reaching the ring (caveat to others). Hence, new tool on order (Park Tool FR-5G Cassette Lockring Tool with Guide Pin) which should be the equivalent to Shimano's TL-LR15 (current tool used for centerlock and cassettes).
