New horse in the stable

I found this on Craigslist a couple weeks ago, and it was in need of a new home.

Essentially all of the rubber has been replaced, and the tandem will have maiden voyage soon.

Looks like a great bike! Plenty of happy miles left in it, no doubt.
Just curious, are those Campy or Sachs shifters?
..... and tell me about that big ring. It looks HUGE! 60T?

Yes, it is a big ring... 56 teeth from the stamping. it is a triple.

Those are Sachs brifters with a Sachs Neos rear derailleur and a 105 front derailleur in a 3 x 7 configuration. I think it was an upgrade to index shifters along the way. Even with the long cage the granny gear up front on the small rear sprocket is a bit of concern.
