Tandem Ramble - Ventura - Saturday July 26

The Orange County Rebels were proud to host a Tandem Ramble back on June 28. In fact, there was so much enthusiasm that another Tandem Ramble is planned. This time it will start in Ventura. That's "out of town" for the OC Rebels, and we think it will be great fun to ride with our friends in the Channel Islands Bicycle Club.

Everyone is invited, and there is no charge. Just be ready to ride before 9:00 am at Mission Park in Ventura. Route slips are available on the Channel Islands Bicycle Club website. You can check out the RideWithGPS map, too. Several of us "out-of-towners" will be staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Ventura.

The Orange County Rebels have always had a good group of tandem teams. This event is a chance for any tandem team to join us and the Channel Islands Bicycle Club for some fun tandem riding along the beautiful California coast between Ventura and Capenteria, CA. This will be a fun, social, no-drop ride.

Let's Ride!

A big Thanks to the 4 Tandem teams from the Conejo Valley Cyclists who joined the OC Rebels on the Tandem Ramble.
Look forward to another Tandem run!

Geez!
Did a tandem event out there back in 1978 sponsored by Kangeroo Bags . . .
Remember, if you are heading east from there, it's all uphill!
Had only a couple tandems the first day as it was headed east on a century.
The next day about 20 tandems showed up for a coastal ride.
Asked some of them, 'where were you yesterday?' They stated "heading east and up is too hard"!
Enjoy the ride TWOgether!

According to the RideWithGPS route, the ride starts at 14 ft of elevation. The highest point is just 475 ft, and since it is and out-and-back course, you'll end up back at 14 ft.

That shouldn't be too hard!

As Zona said....... its uphill when you head in land (east) as the mountains meet the ocean there. I lived in Ventura aways back and did many rides up the coast to Carpenteria and Santa Barbara for breakfast.... never on a tandem tho.

Wish I could make it............ enjoy the sea breeze !!! :thumb:

Have done the Cool Breeze put on by the Channel Islands Bicycle Club numerous times and twice on a Tandem....about 4,000 feet of climb but a very enjoyable ride. Really liked the Popsicle at the last rest stop!

This little ride (38 Miles) is has very little climbing, less than 500 ft of climb and is a great area for Tandems. So you get the front leg and back leg of the Cool Breeze Century (relatively flat).
